Private Folder

A Private Folder is a highly secure repository designed for storing sensitive files, providing you with superior control over your personal data. Access to these files is exclusively restricted by a password set by you, ensuring an additional layer of protection

To create a Private Folder on JioCloud, follow these steps:

  • Access Settings:
  • On the JioCloud mobile app (Android/iOS), navigate to "Settings."
  • On the JioCloud web, go to "Profile" and then "Security & Access."
  • Select Private Folder Option:
  • Click on the "Private Folder" option.
  • Set Up Private Folder:
  • Choose the "Set up Private Folder" option.
  • Create a new password.
  • Authenticate the setup using OTP or passphrase.

To access the Private Folder on JioCloud, follow these steps:

For Android/iOS Applications:

  • Open the "My Files" section from the bottom navigation bar.
  • Tap on the "Private Folder" option.
  • Enter the password to access the Private Folder.

For JioCloud Web Interface:

  • Click on the "Private Folder" option from the left menu.
  • Enter the password to successfully access the Private Folder.
  • By following these steps, you can securely access your Private Folder on both the JioCloud mobile application and web interface.

To secure your sensitive files using the Private Folder on JioCloud, you can either move existing files/folders into the Private Folder or directly upload them there. Here are the steps to accomplish this:

  • Moving Existing Files/Folders:
  • Select the file or folder you wish to move.
  • Expand the menu and choose the "Move to Private Folder" option.
  • Enter the Private Folder password. Your files will be moved automatically to the secure location.
  • Uploading Files Directly:
  • Open the Private Folder and enter the password.
  • Use the upload button to directly upload files into the Private Folder.
  • Note: Moving a file or folder to the Private Folder will permanently remove it from all existing "Private Shares" and "Public Links."

To transfer files from the Private Folder to JioCloud, follow these steps:

  • Access the Private Folder by entering the required password.
  • Select the desired file or folder within the Private Folder. Expand the menu options and choose the "Move out of Private Folder" option.
  • The file or folder you have moved will now be accessible in the "All Files" section of JioCloud.

To move files within a Private folder on JioCloud:

  • Open the Private Folder by entering the password.
  • Select the file/folder inside the Private Folder, expand the menu, and choose the "Move" option.
  • Choose the location where you wish to move the file/folder to complete the process.

To reset the password for a Private Folder on JioCloud, follow these steps:

  • Navigate to "Settings" within the JioCloud app on your Android or iOS device, or go to "Profile > Security & Access" on the JioCloud website.
  • Expand the Private Folder menu and select the "Reset Password" option.
  • Set a new password and authenticate the change using an OTP (One-Time Password) or passphrase.
  • By following these instructions, you can effectively reset the password for your Private Folder on JioCloud, ensuring the security of your data.

To delete a Private Folder on JioCloud, follow these steps:

  • Navigate to "Settings" within the Android or iOS app, or go to "Profile > Security & Access" on the JioCloud website.
  • Expand the Private Folder menu and select the "Delete Private Folder" option.
  • In the subsequent confirmation dialog, click on "Delete Permanently" to remove the Private Folder.

Note: Deleting a Private Folder will permanently remove all files and folders contained within it.
