The People feature groups your photos based on the people who appear in them. This allows you to browse all photos of a particular person in one place, making it easy to relive memories and organize your collection.
When you open the People feature, photos are automatically grouped by faces, each group representing a person. Clicking on a person’s face will open their group, displaying all photos of that individual, organized by the most recent photos at the top.
Yes, you can name each face group to make it easier to identify and search for specific people. Here’s how:
Go to People, click on a face group, and choose ‘Add a name’.
Enter a name between 3 and 64 characters.
Note: Once a face group is named, it will move to the top of the list, making it easier to access. Named groups are sorted above unnamed groups, regardless of the number of photos in each.
By default, face groups are sorted based on the number of photos in each group, with the groups containing the most photos displayed at the top. However, once a name is added, those named groups are prioritized and appear above unnamed groups.
If a photo has been mistakenly placed in the wrong person's group:
Open the face group, select the incorrect photo(s), and choose ‘Remove result(s)’ from the menu. This will remove the photo(s) from that group and help improve accuracy.
After naming a face group, you can quickly find it using the search bar:
Type in at least 3 characters of the group name.
Click on the search suggestion that appears to go directly to the chosen group. This makes it easy to locate specific people without manually browsing.
The People feature uses a model to recognize faces, but sometimes photos of the same person may be separated into different groups. In these cases, the system might suggest merging groups to improve accuracy.
If the system suggests merging groups, you’ll see three options:
Same: Select this if the recommended face group matches the person in the original group. This will merge the two groups into one.
Different: Choose this if the groups are of different people. This will keep the groups separate and prevent future merger suggestions for that person.
Not Sure: If you’re unsure about whether the groups match, select this option to leave the groups as they are without merging.
