File Upload and Auto Backup

Why are my files not uploading to JioCloud in the background on Android, even though I have enabled the auto-backup option in settings?

To ensure your files are automatically uploaded in the background, you need to allow JioCloud to use data in the background. Otherwise, backups will only occur when the JioCloud app is actively open on your phone.

For Stock Android Devices (e.g., Pixel):

  • Open Android Settings on your phone.
  • Navigate to 'Network & internet'.
  • Tap on 'Data usage' and then 'Data saver'.
  • If 'Data Saver' is off, no further action is needed.
  • If 'Data Saver' is on, proceed to the next step.
  • Tap on 'Unrestricted data access'.
  • Scroll down and toggle on 'JioCloud'.

For Samsung Devices:

  • Open Android Settings on your phone.
  • Go to 'Connections'.
  • Click on 'Data usage'.
  • Select 'Wi-Fi data usage'.
  • Choose the JioCloud app.
  • Enable 'Allow background data usage' for JioCloud.

For Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco Devices (Android 10, 11, and 12):

  • Open Android Settings on your phone.
  • Select 'Installed Apps' under app settings.
  • Find and select the JioCloud app.
  • Navigate to 'Permissions'.
  • Toggle on 'Background data usage'.
