To ensure your files are automatically uploaded in background, you need to allow JioCloud to use your data in background. Failure to do so means your backup only occurs when JioCloud app is open on your phone.

If you have a device which is running on stock Android like Pixel devices, please follow the below steps to enable background data usage:

  • Open Android Settings on your phone.
  • Search for 'Network & internet'.
  • Tap on 'Data usage' and then on 'Data saver'.
  • If 'Data Saver' is off, you don't need to do anything. If data saver is on, continue to the next step.
  • Tap on 'Unrestricted data access'.
  • Scroll down and turn on the toggle for JioCloud.

If you have a Samsung device, there is a different setting that limits background activity. To enable background data usage for JioCloud, please follow the below steps.

  • Open Android Settings on your phone.
  • Go to 'Connections'.
  • Click on 'Data usage'
  • Select 'Wi-Fi data usage'.
  • Choose JioCloud app.
  • Activate 'Allow background data usage' setting for JioCloud.

Similarly for Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco devices with Android 10, 11, and 12, there is another setting that limits background activity. To change this setting for JioCloud.

  • Open Android Settings on your phone.
  • Select 'Installed Apps' under app settings.
  • Select the JioCloud app.
  • Select the other permissions under permissions.
  • Turn the toggle on for 'background data usage'.
