The document scanning process on JioAICloud involves the following steps:
Capture or Select Images: Start by either using your device’s camera to capture a photo of the document or select an existing image from your gallery. The interface allows you to adjust the boundaries to crop the desired content.
Edit Scans: A range of editing options is available, including rotate, crop, apply filters, curvature correction, and OCR to enhance scan clarity.
Save and Share: Save the scanned files as a PDF, which is automatically uploaded to JioAICloud. You can share them directly, and access PDFs under ‘Files’ -> ‘My Scans’.
Auto-capture, when toggled ON, automatically scans a document when detected. If Auto-capture is OFF, you’ll need to press the scan button manually to capture the document.
After capturing a document, access the Edit screen by tapping the Thumbnail or pressing the Done button on the Live Capture screen. In the Edit screen, you have several tools to enhance and refine your scan. Here’s a breakdown of each option with explanations:
Add a New Scan: Use the Camera icon to add an additional scan to your document set. This takes you back to the Live Capture screen to capture a new scan that will be added to the current document set.
Rotate: The Rotate icon allows you to rotate the scanned document 90 degrees clockwise each time it’s pressed. This is useful for adjusting the orientation of the document if it appears sideways or upside-down.
Crop: Adjust the boundaries of your scan to remove unwanted areas by using the Crop feature. This lets you focus on the main content of the document and eliminate background or unnecessary details.
Apply Filters: Filters can enhance the visibility and quality of your scan. Choose from a list of options, including Automatic (default), which adjusts brightness and contrast for better readability.
Curvature Correction: If the document has curved or warped areas (such as the inner pages of a book), Curvature Correction smooths out these areas, making the text and images appear flat and readable.
OCR (Optical Character Recognition): OCR extracts text from your scanned document, converting it into selectable and copyable text. This feature is especially helpful for digitizing printed text, allowing you to copy, search, or share the text content directly.
Each tool in the Edit screen is designed to help you perfect your scan, making it clearer, more accurate, and ready for digital use.
Once you’re satisfied with the scan, press the Save button in the Edit screen. Your scan will be saved as a PDF and uploaded to your ‘My Scans’ folder in JioAICloud.
To discard a scan, press the Close (X) button on the Live Capture screen, which opens the "Discard scan" pop-up. Select "Discard and Exit" to remove the scan or "Save and Exit" if you want to keep it.
In JioAICloud, you can find your scanned documents under the ‘My Scans’ section within the ‘My Files’ tab. By selecting this option, you will be presented with a comprehensive list of all the documents you have scanned.
